Environmental statement
I am passionate about environmental issues, and endeavor to run and maintain an environmentally conscious company.
I am striving to minimise any contamination of the environment by gaseous, liquid, solid wastes or by-products that can endanger human health and the health and welfare of plants and animals, or can attack materials, reduce visibility, produce undesirable odours, or any other environmental pollution caused by human activities.
In my continuing efforts to achieve the above:
- I strive to maintain a fully paperless office.
- Wherever possible internal office systems, design processes and proofing systems are produced, maintained and processed electronically – thereby minimising waste and harmful environmental emissions.
- Any essential paper products purchased for use in my office is recycled, environmentally friendly and/or FSC certified.
- All used paper, and other materials, are recycled internally within my office, wherever possible, before being shredded and completely recycled at local authority managed centres.
- My clients are discouraged from requesting paper proofs – my preferred method of proofing is electronic, using industry standard PDF technology.
- My designs and recommendations offer clients the most environmentally friendly solutions to answer their brief, utilising electronic means of communication, wherever possible, and recycled and/or environmentally friendly paper solutions for all printing – in each case a full environmental statement, for any paper products specified, is available to all clients upon request.
- My office makes full use of any available energy saving items such as light bulbs and heating systems etc.
- All electronic office equipment, including computers and peripherals, use energy saving features.
- Wherever possible, all electronic equipment is switched off when not in use.
- Wherever appropriate, my preferred transport method is by public services (bus or train).
- My suppliers and associates are monitored closely for their environmental policies and carbon footprints, and are based in Cumbria wherever possible to boost the local economy.
