The third of these, Briery Wood Country House Hotel and Restaurant, is late Victorian (circa 1870). In addition to wide shots of the main reception rooms, I also captured smaller details and cameos to illustrate the atmosphere of this luxurious hotel. My images will be used extensively throughout the hotel’s promotional materials, including printed media and their new website.

Traces of snow on the distant fells, fantastic colour bouncing off the low cloud and casting a pink hue over everything. I took 5 shots over a period of 5 minutes but then the light and colour began to fade.

No special set-up – just handheld on my Canon EOS450D with a 28mm lens.

I was recently contacted by an online toy and collectibles retailer, who wanted to update his existing poor quality product shots with some professionally taken. Initially I shot around fifty different items. My client was so pleased with these he asked me to shoot over 100 more.

Very simple set-up with minimal post-shoot Photoshop work.

This is one of several ‘special offer’ images I took for Hayes.

For this image, the orchid and pot were shot indoors using my studio facilities. The image was then cut out, the white base and faint reflection were added, and the whole thing was overlaid onto a background garden image which I blurred to create a sense of depth.

Very convincing, but completely ‘manufactured’.
